Poole Quay Bike Nights 2010
Poole Quay's hugely popular motorbike meet has returned and takes place every Tuesday evening from 6th April - 28th September. It is a regular haunt for everyone from novices and enthusiasts to world class Superbikers. During the event Poole Quay is closed off to all traffic, except motorbikes, with numbers at the event regularly in excess of 1,000 motorcycles creating a truly spectacular display.
Bikers and spectators enjoy a relaxed evening with the backdrop of the Quay and Harbour and a great selection of waterside cafes, bars, restaurants and food kiosks to enjoy some refreshments during the event.
The night is fully marshalled, with a £1 entry charge per bike, per night, or £6 for a season armband giving entry to 26 meets (armbands are limited to 1400 in total and available from the Welcome Centre on Poole Quay). The night is a self-funding event and any surplus income after costs have been paid is donated to local charities nominated by the volunteer Marshalls.
The weekly "Bike of the Night" competition sees different judges pick out their personal favourite each week. The winning owner will receive a race kit courtesy of Muc-off. All weekly winners will also get invited back to take part in the "Bike of the Year" finale on Tuesday 28th September.
Last year one of our Hawk custom bikes, an XVS1100 owned by Alec Rose, won bike of the night:
